"Best of the West"

What is it?
The Western Buckle Circuit (WBC) awards the top dog(s) by offering a trophy buckle at the end of the year.

How it works:

Trial hosts (clubs or individuals) that are offering All-Breed trials (CKC, ASCA or AHBA) can take part by submitting all qualifying scores to the Point Keeper. At the end of the year, the scores are tallied, and the dogs with the highest point total take home a Trophy Buckle.

Rules:
  1. It costs $5.00 per trial* to sanction for the WBC . This is to be paid up front, and will allow the host to use WCB and the WCB logo on any of their advertising media (trial information, website, etc). *If the host is offering 4 trials, total cost would be $20.00 and so on. In the event of trials where there are one or more runs on the same or different stock in each trial, the sanction fee is $5.00 per "course/stock type run" in each trial. The sanctioning fee goes towards the purchase of the buckle(s).

  2. Any scores remitted without prior sanction will not be accepted.

  3. There are three (3) Sections as outlined below:
    • Section A - all HA, SDA, HTDIII, HRDIII, ATD
    • Section B - all HI, SDI, HTDII, HRDII, OTD
    • Section C - all HS, SDS, HTDI, HRDI, STD

  4. Scores from Qualifying runs ONLY will be counted. These scores are added up, and the dogs with the highest score total at the end of the year, will be awarded the "Best of the West" Buckle.

  5. Dogs that participate in more than one Section will be counting towards those Sections that they’ve earned Q-scores in. ie. Scores from Section B will not count towards Section A point totals, but will count for Section B point totals.

  6. The WBC is open to CKC, AHBA and ASCA all-breed trials being held in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia. (Single or Limited Breed trials will be refused WBC sanctioning)

  7. At the end of the trial(s) the host is expected to send the point form to the Point Keeper, either by email or by regular post with-in 30 days of the trial

  8. Stats will be posted on the Herding Canada website.

  9. The year runs from January 1 to December 31.

  10. All dogs participating in WBC sanctioned trials that have qualifying scores are eligible.

  11. All handlers, novice to pro alike are eligible.
